Orange Shirt Day

In remembrance of Orange Shirt Day, I created this design to honor our Elders, family, and all our Relatives who endured the abuse and cruelty of residential and boarding schools, and the children who never made it home.

The finger-paint font represents a child’s writing. The Medicine Wheel represents the stages of life and the importance of nurturing and protecting our children as they grow. The small footprints represent the innocence of our children at that stage of life, while the different colors represent the many shades our children come in today.
